Wöllstein visits Great Barford
The recent visit over the Bank Holiday weekend by our friends from Wollstein was greatly enjoyed by all who participated, including several new families.
The Alban Middle School Band very kindly provided a splendid musical welcome when the coach arrived on Friday morning. The Village Hall was a sight to behold, with banners hanging from the ceiling depicting a range of Partnership themes and familiar scenes from both Great Barford and Wollstein. An excursion to Cambridge was organised for Sunday, which guests and hosts enjoyed together. On Monday morning the Bowls Club welcomed our visitors to have a game or two and we thank them for their hospitality. Hover your mouse on the picture below. Then click play for the slide show. On Saturday evening our guests enjoyed a delicious West Indian buffet provided by Maurice (spicy but not too hot!) with musical entertainment by the band Two True. The weekend was rounded off on Monday evening when once again guests and hosts competed at darts, carpet bowls and bar skittles. We are pleased to report that the trophy was won by Great Barford on this occasion. Well played all! After the games we all enjoyed a traditional fish and chip supper served on site by the Fish and Chip Company. Always popular with our German guests!.
